Life is shitty but there's always toilet paper...

Well I do not know for some of my friends around the globe but for me these shows were the best. I look at the current programming they offered the younger ones and is all the same in style and format. Ir they are canned tv shows from the US. I used to wait anxiously to see these shows. I remember I had to fight my parents cause I did not want to do anything else than imitate the choreography from the dances of these shows, style or scream at the dum dum kid playing in the games. Ergggg... Is pretty frustrating when I get to babysit and I see just Dora, Bob the Builder, Clifford the Red Dog, Lazy Town or the Invasion of Disney, but no tv shows that represent something of our Latin Culture or brings something else aside from the US culture.





I got to admit. I had her dolls, I wanted to be a paquita, I imitated her style and she was some one who I look up to and admire. I still do. Regardless of what people may say about her for me she is still that Xuxa that brought joy and a time of entertainment to kids across Latin America and even to the US. She was a phenomenon. I dare you to ask any person from my generation who is Xuxa and all of them are going to speak to you of that time as they watch the show. She had the most awkward dance choreography but many of us wanted to emulate her dance move. We were united under the Xuxa flag for a time, now what Tv show does that?


A soap Opera directed to children. Yes! I know they had made some children orientated soap operas after this one but they still fail. I even show it to my younger cousin when I was baby sitting her and she prefers this one to the ones they offer her in the tv tube.



I grew up watching her and I got the chance to meet her several times not only when I was younger but also as I age. XD I am glad that her show is still running but has been limited to certain days and 30 mins. Her show was 2 hours 7 weeks. It had arts and crafts, anime, games and you name it. Now is just an intervention. :-(

I remember where once I turn on the television to see amazing videos that talk about life's challenges from facing racism, to exploitation and to gang wars and Sex and its challenges. Today's music every time I turn the radio I hear the same trivial things that are the hype now then by tomorrow's night they are forgotten. Can't we force a return to those lyrics going into our ears and getting embedded into our minds and spreading through the radio-waves and through the internet. I know that today's youth has faced the worse of the worse and yet the popsterss only sing about tick tocs, the flow, a vampire and a human girl. yet I still have not heard about cyber bullying, gay harassing, school violence,  the ever rampant racism, youth homeless aka the young runaways, rape, etc. Please tell me I am wrong that this youth has its voice.  Please do not tell me that Gaga is the voice of this late generation Y cause one voice is still not enough to spread about the issue.   I wish Tokio Hotel will sound more in the air waves cause they seem to be a powerful voice that along Gaga's the late Generation Y will have two perfect voices to speak about certain and powerful issue that concern today's youth. What I am talking I am part of this generation yet I feel like I am kind of the early ones. As you can see I am part of the early Generation Y with a mix of late Generation X. I know every generation has its voice. For me as I face my teenage years, I had the lyrics  of TLC's. And among them  the lyrics of Unpretty that still to these days sing to my heart so profoundly and whisper to my soul at times when I am in my lowest. Yes  a grown woman of 26 years still has some self-esteem issues I rather admited than denied like most people do. Is a difficult road to be one's best mate =D , but is interesting. These song is dedicated to all my friends from the past, present and future.












Well I feel oblige to spread some love to the youngester of my generation =D. Got to give some support to Lady Gaga and Tokio Hotel. In hope of other potential voices to come up and speak up with their music about certain issues that pertains to this generation. Remember music is the fastest way to spread up conscience and speak-up against certain issues of great importance to all of us. I must confess I used some of the lyrics of Tokio Hotel to speak up about youth homeless in Puerto Rico. I was screamed as a liar but truth be told, I can not denied the reality cause I have seen them yet they appear as not your typical homeless. This kids have run away from the temporary homes they have been place. Or end up in the streets because they parents could not accept a gay child( so for those who tell me is a problem of class I will tell you careful is not all because they are poor, but some times is for pure denial like this case, which I got the chance to see once several years in Rio Piedras).
